Some sports are won through strength, others through speed. Gymnastics demands even more: transforming years of preparation into just a few seconds of precision and elegance. Every routine embodies the perfect balance of power, grace and accuracy, qualities that have made gymnastics one of the most admired sports in the history of the Central American and Caribbean Games.

Throughout the history of the Central American and Caribbean Games, gymnastics has helped shape some of the region’s leading sporting nations. Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic have produced some of the discipline’s most remarkable performances across its various disciplines, contributing to the growth of an increasingly competitive sport with a higher technical standard.

Among the athletes who have left a lasting mark are Venezuela’s Jessica López, an Olympic finalist, Pan American Games medalist and one of Latin America’s most accomplished gymnasts; Mexico’s Alexa Moreno, a World Championships medalist and Olympic vault finalist; Cuba’s Manrique Larduet, a World Championships medalist on the horizontal bar and all-around silver medalist; Mexico’s Natalia Escalera, one of the leading representatives of the new generation of artistic gymnastics; and Puerto Rico’s Catalina Font, who has played an important role in the development of the sport across the region. Their achievements have inspired new generations of gymnasts.

At the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, gymnastics will bring together athletes from across the region in artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline gymnastics. Among the qualified delegations are Cuba, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Competition will take place from July 26 to August 6 at the Gymnastics Pavilion at Parque del Este, one of the venues set to host some of the most highly anticipated events on the sports programme.

Beyond the scores, gymnastics reflects the human ability to push beyond personal limits. At Santo Domingo 2026, every routine will be the result of years of dedication and preparation, while also serving as an opportunity to inspire a new generation of athletes eager to leave their mark on the history of the Central American and Caribbean Games.
