Alberto Zayas Appointed General Producer of the Santo Domingo 2026 Opening Ceremony

Alberto Zayas has been appointed General Producer of the Opening Ceremony of the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, the Organizing Committee announced.

The Opening Ceremony will take place on 24 July 2026, the date on which the regional Games officially begin and which will run until 8 August, with the participation of more than 6,000 athletes, setting a record for this type of event.

The ceremony will be held at the iconic Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium, where a large-scale spectacle will be presented, designed to showcase to the world the splendor of the Dominican Republic—its history, culture, music, artistic talent, and the pride of its people.

With more than three decades of experience in audiovisual production, television, live shows, sports ceremonies, and high-level mass events, Zayas brings to the project his passion, professionalism, and deep commitment to national identity.

“I receive this appointment with great honor and profound gratitude. For me, it represents the validation of three decades of creating unforgettable moments, breaking boundaries, and proudly elevating the name of the Dominican Republic. I assume this commitment with the responsibility that a historic event for our region deserves, and with the conviction that every step of my professional journey has been constant preparation for this challenge,” said Alberto Zayas.

“Together with AZ Films Producciones, and supported by the extraordinary talent of a great team of professionals, we will work to deliver the largest, most modern, and most emotional ceremony the Central American and Caribbean Games have seen in their one hundred years of history. It is an honor to serve my country and contribute to the cultural and sporting legacy we share as a region,” added the renowned producer.

For his part, José P. Monegro, President of the Organizing Committee, stated that the appointment of Alberto Zayas as General Producer marks the beginning of preparations for a majestic, vibrant, and emotional opening ceremony—a celebration of national identity, culture, and pride.

“We want the 25th Santo Domingo 2026 Games to consolidate the Dominican Republic as a meeting point for Central America and the Caribbean, through an unforgettable spectacle worthy of our nation,” he said.

The 25th Central American and Caribbean Games will be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from 24 July to 8 August 2026, with the participation of more than 6,000 athletes competing in over 30 sports disciplines.

The President of the Organizing Committee invited the public to take part in this historic celebration.

Alberto Zayas is an audiovisual producer and director, founder and CEO of AZ Films Producciones, with more than 30 years of experience in the Dominican Republic’s audiovisual industry.
