Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico and El Salvador Advance to the Mixed Team Badminton Semifinals at Santo Domingo 2026

SANTO DOMINGO. The badminton competition at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 got underway this Friday with the group stage of the mixed team event, determining the four nations that advanced to the semifinals.

In Group A, Cuba secured its place in the semifinals with a 3-2 victory over the Dominican Republic, while Mexico cruised past Colombia 5-0, allowing both teams to move on to the next round.

In Group B, El Salvador defeated Barbados 4-1, while Guatemala completed a flawless performance by sweeping Venezuela 5-0 to book its place in the semifinals.

The semifinal matchups are as follows:

• Mexico vs. El Salvador
• Cuba vs. Guatemala

The matches will be played on Friday afternoon at the Table Tennis Pavilion at Parque del Este, where the four teams will compete for a place in the mixed team final.
