Liadagmis Povea wins in Limoges
Cuban athlete Liadagmis Povea claimed victory on January 31 at the Meeting National en salle de la Haute-Vienne (WAIT Challenger), held in Limoges, with a best jump of 13.40 m in the women’s indoor triple jump. The distinctive feature of the competition was that Povea actually recorded only one valid attempt, executed from a seven-step run-up—a decision made due to the low temperatures inside the venue. The athlete herself confirmed this to us via WhatsApp after her performance. The podium was completed by Japan’s Akari Funada (13.18 m) and Great Britain’s Adelaide Omitowoju (13.06 m).

For February 1, the official website of the Val de Reuil – l’Eure 2026 meeting confirms the participation of Leyanís Pérez, while in Moscow there will also be Cuban representation with Luis Enrique Zayas and Dacsy Bricson in the high jump. A busy schedule awaits Cuban athletics on the European indoor winter tour.
