Centro Caribe Sports joins the highest representatives of the global sports community during the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Commissions\u2019 Week, held from November 2 to 6 in Lausanne, Switzerland. This annual gathering brings together leaders, coaches, athletes, and presidents of National Olympic Committees from around the world in a space for dialogue and collective reflection on the future of the Olympic Movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luis Mej\u00eda Oviedo, President of Centro Caribe Sports, expressed his satisfaction at taking part in this experience alongside leaders from across Central America, the Caribbean, and the Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a different dynamic\u2014more agile, more participatory\u2014with a full framework of assistance built around five topics developed in 45-minute sessions. Each group must present its conclusions and recommendations, one on a green sheet and another on a yellow shee=t. It\u2019s an interesting method that allows everyone to contribute concrete ideas,\u201d explained Mej\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the working sessions, participants addressed five key thematic areas essential to the evolution of modern Olympism, promoting active participation and cross-regional collaboration. Mej\u00eda highlighted the strong presence of Caribbean leaders, including Keith Joseph, President of the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC), who also took part in the working commissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s wonderful to see our Caribbean leaders here, sharing experiences and contributing to the development of the Olympic Movement. A united, dynamic International Olympic Committee, working together during Commissions\u2019 Week\u2014congratulations from Lausanne, Switzerland,\u201d said the Centro Caribe Sports President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commissions\u2019 Week is one of the most significant events on the Olympic calendar, as the IOC convenes all its commissions to debate, update strategies, and establish new lines of action for the benefit of global sport. These sessions aim to strengthen Olympism as a philosophy of life beyond competition, promoting sport as a tool to build a better world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, as Centro Caribe Sports celebrates its 100th anniversary, the organization reaffirms its position as the oldest regional sports body in the field of high-level competition. It actively participates in four IOC commissions\u2014Marketing, Future Hosts, Broadcasting, and Communications\u2014contributing its expertise to the development, promotion, and sustainability of the Olympic Movement throughout Central America and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this participation, Centro Caribe Sports reaffirms its commitment to excellence, regional cooperation, and Olympic values, strengthening its role within the international sports structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
