Alberto Zayas has been appointed General Producer of the Opening Ceremony of the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, the Organizing Committee announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Opening Ceremony will take place on 24 July 2026, the date on which the regional Games officially begin and which will run until 8 August, with the participation of more than 6,000 athletes, setting a record for this type of event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony will be held at the iconic F\u00e9lix S\u00e1nchez Olympic Stadium, where a large-scale spectacle will be presented, designed to showcase to the world the splendor of the Dominican Republic\u2014its history, culture, music, artistic talent, and the pride of its people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With more than three decades of experience in audiovisual production, television, live shows, sports ceremonies, and high-level mass events, Zayas brings to the project his passion, professionalism, and deep commitment to national identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI receive this appointment with great honor and profound gratitude. For me, it represents the validation of three decades of creating unforgettable moments, breaking boundaries, and proudly elevating the name of the Dominican Republic. For his part, Jos\u00e9 P. Monegro, President of the Organizing Committee, stated that the appointment of Alberto Zayas as General Producer marks the beginning of preparations for a majestic, vibrant, and emotional opening ceremony\u2014a celebration of national identity, culture, and pride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want the 25th Santo Domingo 2026 Games to consolidate the Dominican Republic as a meeting point for Central America and the Caribbean, through an unforgettable spectacle worthy of our nation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 25th Central American and Caribbean Games will be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from 24 July to 8 August 2026, with the participation of more than 6,000 athletes competing in over 30 sports disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President of the Organizing Committee invited the public to take part in this historic celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Alberto Zayas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alberto Zayas is an audiovisual producer and director, founder and CEO of AZ Films Producciones, with more than 30 years of experience in the Dominican Republic\u2019s audiovisual industry. In 2019, he was selected by Forbes Central America and the Dominican Republic as one of the region\u2019s most creative figures, in recognition of his impact, innovation, and leadership in the audiovisual field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He served as General Producer of the Soberano Awards in 2018, 2019, and 2023, and as Television Producer and Director of the ceremony in 2024 and 2025, leading productions of high artistic and technical standards. He was also the producer of the Host City Handover Ceremony during the Closing Ceremony of the San Salvador 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, reaffirming his expertise in large-scale sports ceremonies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zayas also led projects that achieved Guinness World Records for the largest merengue dance and the largest bachata dance, milestones that significantly enhanced the international projection of Dominican culture. In 2023, his career was recognized with the The Best of DR distinction, awarded by Mercado magazine. His work is distinguished by a comprehensive creative vision, technical excellence, and a strong commitment to Dominican cultural identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
