Within the framework of an assembly of the Central American Sports Organization (ORDECA), Luis Mej\u00eda Oviedo, President of Centro Caribe Sports and member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), addressed the National Olympic Committees of Central America, highlighting institutional closeness, the value of regional integration, and the progress toward the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mej\u00eda Oviedo extended a special greeting to the presidents, secretaries general, and other members of the Olympic committees, emphasizing that this is a particularly significant year for the regional sports movement, as it marks the centennial of the Central American and Caribbean Games, which will be held in less than 200 days in the Dominican capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his remarks, the leader shared key dates on the institutional calendar, including the Chefs de Mission Meeting, scheduled for March 11\u201314; the Centro Caribe Sports General Assembly, set for July 22; and the Centennial Gala, to be held on July 23, on the eve of the Games\u2019 Opening Ceremony, scheduled for July 24, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mej\u00eda also announced the launch of a Centro Caribe Sports digital directory, an initiative entrusted to Damaris Young, member of the Organization\u2019s Executive Committee and ORDECA representative, aimed at establishing a direct, modern, and unified communication channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe live in a world of communication, and at Centro Caribe Sports we want to communicate better with everyone, ensuring that information flows clearly, in an organized and timely manner,\u201d he said, stressing the importance of strengthening institutional channels at a key stage of the organizational process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his message, the President reiterated that the Games \u201care ready\u201d and belong to the entire region, also underscoring the strategic relationship between Centro Caribe Sports, CANOC, and ORDECA. In this regard, he emphasized that these organizations represent \u201ctwo fundamental arms\u201d of the regional sports movement, called upon to work in a coordinated manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTogether we are stronger. Sport unites us, and friendship must prevail above all,\u201d he concluded, closing his remarks with a call for cooperation, mutual trust, and joint work on the road to Santo Domingo 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
