It is the first of a series of visits to the sports venues that will serve to host the sports in the Dominican Republic, an event that will begin on June 23 until July 8. In addition, five other sports will be held on Quisqueyano soil, such as canoeing, equestrian, modern pentathlon, shooting and taekwondo.

The sports leaders began the tour at the racquetball pavilion located at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, where the technical director of this sport, Rafael Fernandez, noted that the facility has eight courts, two of them with a glass wall where the public can watch the actions from the stands and is in its completion phase in its refurbishment.

“We have fully complied with the provisions issued by the President of the nation, Luis Abinader, so that from the Ministry of Sports we provide everything necessary to the sports venues for the regional event,” said Minister Camacho.

At the end of the racquetball inspections, they visited the field hockey pavilion, located in Parque del Este, where the delegation was received by the technical director of this sport, Miguel Hernández, who showed the progress of the renovation of the playing field and its surroundings.

For the President of the Organizing Committee of the sub-venue, José P. Monegro, both sports venues visited will be the most modern in the region for the celebration of the San Salvador 2023 Games.

“This is the first time I visit the facilities in Santo Domingo and I am sure they will be of the highest level,” said the President of Centro Caribe Sports, Luis Mejía, who stressed that the advances in San Salvador, host city of the Games, will also surprise the world.
