DOMINICAN REPUBLIC TO PARTICIPATE IN EIGHT SPORTS IN AYACUCHO 2024
The Dominican Republic will take part in the first Ayacucho 2024 Bicentennial Bolivarian Games, which will be held from November 28 to December 8 in two Peruvian cities.
In Ayacucho, the main venue of the multi-sport event, the Dominican Republic will be represented with sports such as karate, wushu, kickboxing and 3×3 basketball.
In Lima, sub venue of the event, the country will participate in disciplines such as softball, rugby, skating and skateboarding.
The President of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), engineer Garibaldy Bautista, pointed out that the country is attending the Bicentennial Bolivarian Games with a representative delegation in eight sports.
“We are going to the Bolivarian Games with the intention of playing a role with decorous and assume participation in this event,” added engineer Garibaldy Bautista, president of the COD.
The 2024 Bolivarian Games, also called the 2024 Bicentennial Bolivarian Games, will be held as a special edition on the occasion of the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Independence of Peru and the Battle of Ayacucho.
The multidisciplinary event also celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Bolivarian Games.
The Bolivarian Games – Ayacucho 2024 will have 23 sports and 37 disciplines, with the participation of 10 delegations and an equal number of venues, and a total of 1,300 athletes.
The countries participating in the 2024 Bicentennial Bolivarian Games are Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela, as well as El Salvador, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic as guest nations.
