CARTER SETS FIRST RECORD FOR THE SAN SALVADOR 2023 GAMES
SAN SALVADOR.- Olympic swimmer Dylan Carter set the first new record for the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador 2023 by timing 48.49 seconds in the 100-meter freestyle swimming.
Carter vulperized the previous mark in his possession, which was 48.95, dated July 22, 2018, at the Barranquilla Games.
This medal represented the first gold medal for Trinidad and Tobago at the San Salvador 2023 Games, escorted by Mikel Schreuders of Aruba with a time of 49.17, and followed by Jorge Iga of Mexico with 49.38.
Dylan also won the bronze medal in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay, being so far, the most outstanding athlete of the Trinidadians with two medals to his credit.
At the San Salvador Games, Carter will still compete in the freestyle, butterfly and breaststroke in the 50 meters.
