CENTRAL AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN BOXING READY FOR THE QUARTERFINALS IN PARIS 2024

Boxing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is in the quarterfinal phase, adding an extra adrenaline to these Olympic Games, where the pugilists from Central America and the Caribbean are looking for glory for their people.

In all male categories, with the exception of 57 kg, 92 kg and over 92 kg, there is at least one athlete from the region, focused on continuing to advance in this tournament, to get closer to the podium of Paris 2024, and take a piece of the Eiffel Tower in their hands.

Meanwhile with the women, the representation of the athletes members of Centro Caribe Sports, is set in the divisions of 50, 57 and 66 kilos, which are still in the phase of the Round of 16, while the 60 kilos division, is in the semifinals, where Angie Paola Valdes Pana of Colombia, remained in the quarterfinals.

Starting this Thursday, August 1, the quarterfinals in men’s boxing will be disputed, six men and two women are ready to give their all to ensure a bronze medal for their countries with one more victory.

Including Colombia’s Angie Valdes in the 60 kilograms, the Central American and Caribbean region boasts nine pugilists with Olympic Diplomas, a distinction awarded to the best eight athletes in each sport at the Olympic Games.

OLYMPIC BOXING DIPLOMAS

Cuba has three Olympic Diplomas in this sport, leading the member delegations of Centro Caribe Sports in this category, with Colombia and the Dominican Republic following with two, in addition to Mexico and Panama. The list could grow if Valeria Arboleda Mendoza of Colombia and Ashleyann Lozada of Puerto Rico win their fights on August 2, both in the 57 kg category.
