Centro Caribe Sports Executive Committee promotes plans for 2025-2026 in Santo Domingo
The Centro Caribe Sports Executive Committee held a key meeting at its headquarters in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to evaluate work plans for the 2025-2026 calendar year. The meeting is focused on ensuring, through the work of its committees, successful management in the run-up to the organization’s centennial and the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.
During the regular executive committee meeting, the planning of the next Centro Caribe Sports assembly, scheduled to be held in September in the Dominican Republic, was also addressed.
“We intend to enroll this organization with the committees we have and strengthen the regional Olympic movement alongside other Olympic organizations and committees,” said the organization’s president, Luis Mejía Oviedo, reaffirming the commitment to moving forward with the organizational structure of the regional event.

Executive Committee with a high-level agenda
At the meeting presented the 2025-2026 communications plan and the official cap commemorating the organization’s centennial. The launch of the new Huellas project book was announced, which will compile the contributions and historical legacy of the Central American and Caribbean Games. Additionally, the work plans of the following committees were discussed: Legal, Women and Sport, Sustainability and Environment, and Athletes and Marketing.
Furthermore, the president revealed plans to send an official invitation to the IOC President to attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 Games in Lausanne next June.
The first day of the agenda included tours of the sports infrastructure designated for the Games and a meeting with COSADO 2026. During the meeting, the organization’s president announced plans to send an official invitation to the president of the International Olympic Committee to attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 Games, scheduled for her inauguration in Lausanne next June.
The Centro Caribe Sports 2025-2026 Strategic Plan is built on two fundamental pillars: operational action through commissions and strategic projects with NOCs and international organizations. In addition, the organization aims to integrate sustainable practices, leverage technology to enhance the efficiency and reach of the Games, and leave a lasting legacy in regional sports development.
