CENTRO CARIBE SPORTS PRESENT AT CANOC SPORTS AWARDS
PROVIDENCE, TURCOS Y CAICOS.- The President of Centro Caribe Sports, Luis Mejía Oviedo, and several members of the organization’s Executive Committee, will attend the CANOC Sports Awards, which will be held this Saturday in Turks and Caicos Islands, starting at 6:30 in the afternoon.
This event will have six categories, where five of them recognize Caribbean athletes and the other one recognizes the journalists of the National Olympic Committees members of the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC).
Mejia is part of the invited personalities present at these awards, which will be held at the Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort Villages & Spa, as the stage to gather the nominees and guests.
During the Workkshop anual held this Saturday, prior to the awards, the leader of the Central American and Caribbean sports organization, highlighted the great value and work of CANOC with the assembly of the awards, to recognize the raw material, which are the athletes.
“I am one of those who understand that this organization is very important for our region, and this activity makes a lot of sense,” began the words of the IOC Member.
Luis Mejia continued: “I see the Caribbean as the strength of the sport that unites us; these are not words, it is a belief that I have, when we all join together, we are stronger,” he said.
In addition to Mejia, also present are Roberto Richards, Hans Larsen, Annette Knott, and Steve Stoute, honorary president of Centro Caribe Sports.
