CENTRO CARIBE SPORTS PRESENTED THE BOOK “HUELLAS A PARÍS 2024″

Luis Mejía Oviedo, President of Centro Caribe Sports, presented the book entitled “HUELLAS A PARIS 2024”, which tells the story of the athletes from Central America and the Caribbean competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The regional sports organization, which is preparing to celebrate the Centennial of the founding of the Central American and Caribbean Games and the organization itself, released some details of the campaign, which includes this book, presented on Thursday.

HUELLAS A PARIS 2024”, is the name of the book that tells the stories of the Olympic hopes of the region, which was presented this Thursday at the Dominican House within the framework of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

“It stayed forever, now it will be eternal footprints” said Mejia, President of Centro Caribe Sports.

He also reminded those present that on July 4, 1924, before the Olympic Games of that time, the ODECABE/CACSO was conceived, a name that the now known Centro Caribe Sports will bear until 2021.

The Central American and Caribbean Games is the oldest regional sports competition endorsed by the IOC, and that is why the celebration of the Centennial Games is being prepared for Santo Domingo 2026, and the book “HUELLAS A PARIS 2024” marks the beginning of this celebration.

Present at the activity were members of the organization, Christopher Samuda, Sara Rosario, Ángel Morales, Cyril Burke, Damaris Young and Felipe Vicini, and also Meliton Sanchez, a special invited.

IDENTITY 

At the meeting with the media, which was also attended by Presidents and secretaries general of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs), the logo that will accompany the centennial celebration was presented, inviting people to rediscover unity and history.

“We have come to Paris, the birthplace, to celebrate this event. It is 100 years of our institution and our games, 100 years to identify us all and say that Central America and the Caribbean has its institution: Centro Caribe Sports,” said Mejía.

Among the upcoming international activities of Centro Caribe Sports is the Panama 2024 Centennial Summit, with a training program in various areas of sport and the Olympic movement aimed at all sports leaders in Central America and the Caribbean.
