Oct 21, 2023

SANTIAGO, CHILE.- Centro Caribe Sports, the sports organization of the Central American and Caribbean Games, summoned its member National Olympic Committees to the Ordinary General Assembly to be held on Monday, October 23, in the Chilean capital, taking advantage of the fact that all its members will be in this city for the celebration of the Pan American Games.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., local time, in the Pedro de Valdivia hall of the Sheraton Santiago Hotel and Convention Center, with 30 of the 31 countries attending the Pan American Games in person and the six Associate Members attending virtually.

Guatemala, a member country of Centro Caribe Sports and whose athletes are competing as Independent Athletes Team in these Pan American Games, Santiago 2023, is still under suspension by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and that is the reason why it cannot participate in the activities of the organization.

This Ordinary Assembly has an agenda of different points, which includes the reports of the President, the Treasurer and the recently concluded XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023 and the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, Santo Domingo 2026.

Another item on the agenda is the celebration of the elections of the new members of the Executive Committee of Centro Caribe Sports for the period 2023-2027 and the presentation of the by-laws.
