CENTRO CARIBE SPORTS TRAINS STAFF FOR COSSAN 2023

EL SALVADOR.- As part of the program of workshops organized by the Education Commission of Centro Caribe Sports directed by Eduardo Alvarez and the Organizing Committee of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador 2023 (COSSAN 2023), the staff of the Games was trained on volunteering and management of social networks.

This virtual training was given by Julieta Pantarotto, in charge of volunteering for the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games, and Alejandra Morillo, expert in social media management.

In addition to COSSAN 2023 staff, representatives of the Municipal Sports Institute of the Municipality of San Salvador (IMDER), the National Youth Institute (INJUVE), the Presidential House and higher education institutions also received this training.

Eduardo Álvarez, expressed that this type of knowledge transfer is necessary among sports organizations, which allows the development of the countries that host sporting events.

“San Salvador 2023 acquires the teachings of two professionals such as Julieta and Alejandra, who enthusiastically shared part of the tools to be used here for the Games,” said the secretary general of Centro Caribe Sports.

Pantarotto recounted the experience they had in recruiting more than 8,000 volunteers for the Youth Olympic Games, as well as the entire logistical, technical and organizational process that had to be executed for the success of volunteering in the South American country.

For his part, Morillo shared with those present a series of knowledge about the management of social networks and the development of a digital identity according to what is sought to be achieved in the San Salvador 2023 Games.

She also explained the types of audiences that each of the social networks has, the levels of interaction and the importance of each message to be communicated.

This conference was part of a series of trainings that, hand in hand with Centro Caribe Sports, have been provided to the areas that will be involved in the organization of the San Salvador 2023 Games, and seeks that with these, the process of volunteering and digital communication is at the height of what the Central American sporting event will need.

The XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador 2023, will be held from June 23 to July 8, where the Dominican Republic will serve as sub-venue in the sports of canoeing, equestrian, field hockey, pentathlon, racquetball, shotgun shooting and taekwondo.
