COSSAN 2023 PRESENTS REPORT TO PRESIDENT OF CENTRO CARIBE SPORTS

EL SALVADOR – This Sunday a meeting was held between the Executive Board of Centro Caribe Sports led by Luis Mejía Oviedo, President of the regional sports entity, and the Organizing Committee of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador 2023 (COSSAN 2023).

In this meeting, COSSAN2023 presented an update on the progress made towards the games, and some technical and organizational details of the sporting event, together with the President of the regional sports organization of the oldest games in the world.

“In the previous I was with the staff I have here, and they have notified me of the improvement that has occurred in the performance of COSSAN2023, which is evident in this presentation,” said Mejia.

For Mejia, this weekend has been very beneficial for Centro Caribe Sports and San Salvador 2023, where both parties have worked hand in hand to strengthen the different areas, for the realization of the games next summer, from the workshop to the volunteer team as the details of the official launch to be held this Monday.

“I want to congratulate them because the progress is remarkable,” continued the President of the regional organization.

Dinora Acevedo, General Director of COSSAN2023, took the opportunity to present some of the services that will be available to athletes, special guests and the different National Olympic Committees.

Acevedo also explained the procedures that will be carried out for the development of important points such as visas, translators, anti-doping controls, transportation, lodging, among others.

The meeting was also attended by Eduardo Alvarez, secretary general of Centro Caribe Sports, Armando Bruni, President of the Olympic Committee of El Salvador, as well as members of the Medical and Technical Commissions of the Dominican Republic, among others.

The launching of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador 2023, is scheduled for this Monday, January 23, starting at 6:30 p.m., El Salvador time.

The multi-sport event will have its Opening Ceremony on Friday, June 23, at 7:00 p.m., local time, at the Jorge “El Mágico” González National Stadium.
