

Cubans Leyanis and Lazaro triumph in Gallur, Madrid
The Cuban athletes Lázaro Martínez and Leyanis Pérez won this Thursday the 28th in the men’s and women’s triple jumps, respectively, at the Madrid Indoor Athletics 2025, held indoors at the Gallur track in Madrid, Spain.
Martínez competed on the first day, beating the Olympic medalist Hugues Fabrice Zango, from Burkina Faso. The Budapest 2023 runner-up performed his best jump of the season on his fourth attempt with a mark of 17.12 meters, winning the victory.
Meanwhile, the Cuban bronze medalist in the 2023 World Cup and 2024 diamond winner in women’s triple jump, with only three jumps, reached a mark of 14.42 meters, achieving victory without any problem.
With this, the triple jumpers win titles in the World Indoor Tour Gold Madrid competitions, in the last stop of the gold category of the indoor athletics season, before the Nanjing 2025 Indoor World Championships.
