IOC Candidates to Present Their Programs in Lausanne

Jan 25, 2025

On January 30, 2025, in the Olympic city of Lausanne, IOC Members will attend presentations by the candidates for the IOC presidency.

This closed-door meeting will provide IOC Members with the opportunity to hear the seven candidates present their programs.

The election is scheduled to take place during the IOC Session, which will be held from March 18 to 21, 2025, in Greece.

In the afternoon, IOC Members will convene for the Extraordinary IOC Session, which will be the 143rd IOC Session, during which they will vote on the host city for the 2028 Winter Youth Olympic Games.

As announced earlier this year, the IOC initiated a Targeted Dialogue for the 2028 Winter Youth Olympic Games with the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and the Dolomiti Valtellina project.

HRH Prince Feisal AL HUSSEIN, Lord Sebastian COE, Kirsty COVENTRY, Johan ELIASCH, David LAPPARTIENT, Juan Antonio SAMARANCH, and Morinari WATANABE—each with unique visions for the future of the Olympic Movement—officially announced their candidacies before the midnight deadline on September 15, 2024.
