Mariana Pajón highlighted the role of women in sports
Colombian athlete Mariana Pajón, two-time Olympic champion and one-time BMX world champion, emphasized the importance of women in sports.
“Women in sports today have a very important role. We have an extra power, which is our heart, passion, emotion, and the determination we put into any dream,” said Pajón.
The athlete highlighted the significance of seeing a woman compete at the highest level, emphasizing the importance of their work and how it inspires hundreds of young girls to one day be like them.
“I feel completely proud of all those warrior and fighter women who have an unrelenting thirst to achieve the highest distinction, who accomplish it, surpass it, and inspire many young girls who look up to them,” said the three-time Olympic medalist.
Centro Caribe Sports (CCS) dedicates the month of March, Women’s Month, to the inspiring legacies of women in sports across Central America and the Caribbean, and the Medellín-born athlete is one of them.
