Sep 25, 2024

JUAN DOLIO, REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA.- Four new lectures were presented this Wednesday in the third day of the “I Training Program for Journalists and Sports Reporters” of the project HUELLAS of Centro Caribe Sports.

The event, which is being held in the Manatí room of the Costal Caribe hotel in this city, brings together representatives of the communications area of the National Olympic Committees, members of the regional sports organization.

Salvador Almea began with “Sports marketing, structure in press conferences”, where he shared his experiences in the events he has been part of in his working life.

This is Almea’s second presentation, after he shared with those present last Monday, both personally and virtually, the topic of Ethics.

Then he shared with the NOCs communicators, Alejandro Martin, with the “Motivation in sports scenarios”, explaining the different situations that an athlete faces when he tries to achieve a goal and does not reach it.

Among his recommendations, Martin indicated to avoid value judgments when offering information in order to avoid the crises to which athletes are subjected by external demands, such as fans, media, and even the internal, such as the family.

Another of the presentations on Wednesday was that of Bornan Sports Technologies, a company represented by José Manuel Domínguez, which has been responsible for managing the data of the various multi-sport Games of the Olympic cycle for the American continent, including the Pan American Games of Panam Sports.

Dominguez showed the benefits of the website dedicated to sports organizations, including our own centrocaribesports.org, as well as that of ODESUR and the games of the different organizations.

The day closed with presentations by Katy Lopez from Mexico and Richard Bazil, Director of Communications and Press of Centro Caribe Sports, showing the ways of Olympic Coverage from both points of view.

Lopez represented the vision of the journalist who knows about the Olympic movement but is not directly part of a National Olympic Committee and how his work adds up to the NOC, and Bazil, the way in which regional organizations unify with the NOCs’ media to expand the information of the athletes in the sport events.

This Thursday, the Program moves to the Dominican capital with a tour that will start at INFOTEP, as well as a visit to the facilities of the Olympic Center, Public Television (channel 4) and Teleradio America (channel 12 and 45).
