MEXICO LEADS THE MEDAL TABLE OF THE CENTRO CARIBE SPORTS MEMBER COUNTRIES IN SANTIAGO 2023

The Mexican delegation won six gold medals in the first day official competitions at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023, including an Olympic place in shooting, to occupy the second position in the general medal table and leader among the member countries of Centro Caribe Sports.

Edson Ramirez topped the Aztecs’ day by obtaining 245.5 points in the 10-meter Air Rifle shooting modality, and obtained a place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by achieving the qualifying mark.

Meanwhile, taekwondo added three gold medals with Brandon Plaza in Kyorugi -58 kilograms, Daniela Souza in Kyrougi minus 49 kilograms and William de Jesús Arroyo in individual Poomsae.

The other two gold medals for Mexico on Saturday were won by Osmar Olvera in the 1-meter springboard and Gabriela Agundez in Platform 10-meter diving.

These six gold medals place Mexico as the leading delegation among the member countries of Centro Caribe Sports.in these Pan American Games Santiago 2023.

Mexico is followed by the Dominican Republic with one gold, two silver and one bronze, and fifth in the general table of the Pan American Games, and Venezuela continues to complete the TOP-3 and sixth place of the Games, with one gold and two silver.

Cuba follows with a gold medal and seventh in the medal table of Santiago 2023, and Colombia has two silvers and three bronze medals, to place ninth and ninth in the overall table of the Pan American Games
