MIJAÍN LÓPEZ WILL LEAVE FOOTPRINTS FOR THE OLYMPIC WRESTLING OF CENTRAL AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN

SANTO DOMINGO.- The glory of world wrestling, Mijain Lopez, visited Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, sharing a pleasant conversation with the President of Centro Caribe Sports, Luis Mejia Oviedo. His days after leaving his immortal boots on the mat of Paris 2024, he still does not assimilate.

The winner of five Olympic gold medals, affirms that representing his country are the most important footprints that makes Olympic wrestling, a reference.

“They are days that I have not yet assimilated, but enjoying the family, is indescribable, it is the most significant thing, I am preparing a project to help my sport to children in Central America and the Caribbean,” said the greatest athlete of the Olympic wrestling.

From the hand of Luis Mejía Oviedo, the five-time Olympic champion received the book “Huellas, memorias”, stamping his signature on pages 10 and 12, dedicated to his feat in the Olympic Games.

“It is an honor for me to be in the footprints of this book, which is one of the examples of identity of our athletes, I celebrate that they continue to write history along with each sport, we need to tell our stories that are inspiration,” Lopez pointed out.

Mijain made a connecting stop on Dominican soil en route to be present at the CANOC Sports Awards, which will be held this Saturday, in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

“I want to go back to Santo Domingo soon; we’ll see what’s in store for us to be in another role for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games,” the Cuban finished before boarding the next plane to the awards.
