MOPT TO DELIVER SPORTS VILLAGE TO SAN SALVADOR 2023 IN APRIL

EL SALVADOR.- Prior to his return to the Dominican Republic, the President of Centro Caribe Sports, Luis Mejía Oviedo, together with the General Director of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador 2023, Dinora Acevedo, visited the facilities of the Sports Village of the competition.

During the visit to the University of El Salvador (UES), Mejía was also accompanied by representatives of the University Campus and the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MOPT), to verify that the remodeling works are in the corresponding phase to date.

The MOPT guaranteed San Salvador 2023 and Centro Caribe Sports in the person of the President, that they will deliver the Sports Village in April. “That is very important, I came to the site to check and I am quite satisfied with the explanations we have been given”, commented the regional sports leader.

“The Central American and Caribbean Village is the heart and soul of the Games, that’s why we are going to follow it very closely,” said Mejía.

The director of COSSAN 2023, Dinora Acevedo, explained that the Central American and Caribbean Games are a challenge that requires different actors.

“We have a lot of support and confidence in the Sports Cabinet and all the coordination that is done through them and we have felt a lot of support from the University of El Salvador, which has allowed us to enter its Campus and make the intervention,” she commented.

The XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador 2023, are scheduled from June 23 to July 8, where the Jorge “El Mágico” González National Stadium will host both Ceremonies and the Dominican Republic will be sub-host in the sports of canoeing, equestrian, field hockey, pentathlon, racquetball, shooting and taekwondo.
