SAN SALVADOR 2023 WILL OFFICIALLY LAUNCH ITS GAMES

EL SALVADOR.- The Organizing Committee of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador 2023 and Centro Caribe Sports, will carry out this Monday, January 23, the launching of the regional sports competition, in an event scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m., El Salvador time.

This launching will take place at the San Jacinto Cultural and Recreational Complex (former Presidential House), with the presence of Yamil Bukele, President of San Salvador 2023; Luis Mejía Oviedo, Centro Caribe Sports President; Mario Durán, mayor of San Salvador, and Armando Bruni, President of the Olympic Committee of El Salvador (COES).

The event will be broadcasted on Centro Caribe Sports Channel‘s YouTube channel.

A delegation from the Dominican Republic, the Caribbean country that will serve as sub-host of San Salvador 2023 in seven sports, will be present at this event, represented by Garibaldy Bautista, President of the Dominican Olympic Committee, and Francisco Camacho, Minister of Sports, who serve as second Vice President and secretary general, respectively, of the Organizing Committee of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.

Also, Aristides Fernandez Zucco, designated coordinator of the sub-venue, was among the Dominican personalities present for the launch of the branding of the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games.

The San Salvador 2023 Games are scheduled to be held from June 23 to July 8 and will be inaugurated at the Jorge “El Mágico” González National Stadium, starting at 7:00 p.m. local time. The Dominican Republic will host the equestrian sports (dressage, show jumping and eventing), canoeing, field field hockey, pentathlon, racquetball, shotgun shooting and taekwondo.
