Centro Caribe Sports Press – August 28, 2025
This Thursday, Julien Alfred once again proved her dominance in sprinting. The Saint Lucian athlete, Olympic champion in Paris 2024, was crowned two-time champion of the 100 meters at the Diamond League, delivering a brilliant performance in the grand final held in Zurich.
Alfred crossed the finish line with a time of 10.76 seconds, successfully defending the diamond she had already won in 2024. With an explosive start and a powerful finish, she was untouchable in the final meters.
The podium was completed by Tia Clayton of Jamaica, who finished second with a time of 10.84 seconds, while Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith took third place with 10.94 seconds.
This victory cements Julien Alfred as one of the most outstanding sprinters of the moment. The world of athletics will meet again at the XX World Athletics Championships, to be held in Tokyo, Japan, from September 13 to 21, 2025.
