Feb 27, 2025

The XVII Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 are presented within the framework of the 44th edition of the ANATO 2025 tourism fair, which is being held in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia.

In this context, José Luis Montero, marketing director of the Organizing Committee, made a masterful presentation, counting down to 512 days until the Dominican Republic hosts the centennial games of the Sports Organization of Central America and the Caribbean, Centro Caribe Sports.

The country hopes that its historical landmarks and facilities will be completely pleasing to those who visit it in 2026.

David Collado, Minister of Tourism, indicated his commitment to promoting sports tourism, highlighting the work of José Monegro, president of the Organizing Committee, who is also part of the Sports Tourism Committee of the Dominican Republic, guaranteeing joint work for the success of the games.

The Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (ANATO) tourism showcase is, without a doubt, a very important space that brings together key figures in the sector from Latin America and around the world.

Carlos Fernando Galán, mayor of Bogotá, was the first to give his welcome speech for the event, thanking the great regional turnout.

The XVII Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 represent a milestone in sport, as they bring together the Central American and Caribbean Games, a multi-sport event held every 4 years since 1926 in different cities of countries within the region that includes Central America and the Caribbean Sea basin. Consequently, it is the oldest regional multidisciplinary event in the world.

The Central American and Caribbean Games are organized by the Centro Caribe Sports organization.
