SANTO DOMINGO 2026 ORGANIZING COMMITTEE GIVES REPORT TO CENTRO CARIBE SPORTS

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Organizing Committee of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, offered this Thursday a detailed report to the directors of Centro Caribe Sports on the work carried out so far, with a view to the regional multi-sport event.

A commission integrated by the President of Centro Caribe Sports, Luis Mejía Oviedo, and the Secretary General, Sara Rosario, from Puerto Rico, attended and discussed the presentation of the report presented by the Organizing Committee.

During the activity, a scheduled program of the sports facilities that will be intervened for the 2026 Games was presented and the current status of each of them was reported.

José P. Monegro, President of the Organizing Committee of the Santo Domingo 2026 Games, explained that the facilities that served as sub-venues for the San Salvador 2023 Games are in optimal conditions to be used.

The other facilities, he clarified, will be adapted in accordance with the regulations required by the International Federations of each sport.

The detailed report was welcomed by the Centro Caribe Sports commission, who welcomed the work done by the members of the Organizing Committee, who also presented several options for the accommodation of the athletes from the different countries that will participate in the Games.

“The dummy has been taking shape and will continue to do so from now on,” said Monegro, evaluating the work done so far.

Both Mejía Oviedo and Rosario, considered the meeting as “very edifying and profitable”.

“I am very pleased with the progress that has been made here, very impressed with everything that has been done,” said the sports leader, a native of Puerto Rico who will be the liaison between the Organizing Committee and the Executive of Centro Caribe Sports for the organization of the Games.
