SCHREUDER AIMS FOR THE FINALS IN PARIS 2024
Aruba’s three-time Olympian swimmer, Mikèl Schreuders, is aiming to qualify for the finals of the 50m freestyle as well as the 100m freestyle at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Mikèl, Aruba’s flag bearer for the second consecutive Games, indicated that he is mature enough to opt to be among the best eight swimmers in the world in one of the two events.
He also said he was proud to represent the Caribbean island again, being the first to be in three Olympic Games.
“I am the first athlete from Aruba to qualify for three games. It is an honor and to represent a small country, it is something incredible,” said the Central American and Caribbean Games champion.
Schreuders participated in the Olympic Games editions in Rio 2016 as well as Tokyo 2020, in addition to being the bearer of six medals from the regional games, including the gold medal shared with Miguel de Lara in the 50m backstroke, who both came in at the same time of 27.51, setting a new games record.
His competitions in Paris 2024 are scheduled for July 30 in the 100m freestyle, and on August 1, for the 50m freestyle.
