THE YEAR OF THE CENTRAL AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN GAMES ARRIVES
SANTO DOMINGO.- The year 2023 begins with great expectations in the sports world, year in which the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games are scheduled to be held in San Salvador, from June 23 to July 8, being the first multisport event that opens the doors to the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
Prior to the oldest regional multisport event in the world, several qualifying tournaments for San Salvador 2023 will be held: baseball to define the corresponding quota for the Central American countries, in Managua, Nicaragua, and taekwondo in San José, Costa Rica, both to be held in February.
In addition, other major competitions will be held throughout this year, including the V South American Beach Games in Santa Marta, Colombia, the VII Commonwealth Youth Games, in Trinidad & Tobago, the World Beach Games in Indonesia, Bali, the Basketball World Cup in three countries and several world championships.
There will also be the XIX Pan American Games in Santiago de Chile, starting in October, and the Parapan American Games in November, major events for the end of 2023.
