VALERIA AMPARAN MAKES HISTORY IN MEXICAN SPORT
La mexicana Valeria Sarahi Amparán Pizarro se convirtió este sábado en la primera pugilista del país en subir a lo más alto del podio en el Campeonato Mundial Juvenil de Boxeo, al superar 4-1 a la uzbeka Jasmin Tokhirova en Budva, Montenegro, y con ello escribir su nombre en la historia del boxeo nacional.
In this way, the Durango native joins Jennifer Yazmin Carrillo, who won silver at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games in the Featherweight category (54 to 57 kg).
In the ring of the Mediterranean Sports Center in Budva, the Mexican showed courage and strength in her fists to overcome Uzbek Jasmin Tokhirova, who for a few moments held on to the duel to seek victory.
Both Tokhirova and Amparán Pizarro faced each other in the women’s 45-48 kg final, after defeating Natalia Niewiadomska of Poland and Anel Abdrassilova of Kazakhstan, respectively, and they did it with hierarchy to dispute the gold medal, which remained in the hands of the Mexican.
The young fighter remained faithful to her style to achieve the historic gold, punctual punches to the humanity of her rival that as the minutes passed, gave in to the strategy of the Mexican. Valeria Amparán didn’t let her opponent down and with intelligent combinations, followed by a couple of jabs, she won the historic victory.
