YOUNG AND KNOTT ELECTED TO CENTRO CARIBE SPORTS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

MIAMI.- Damaris Young of Panama and Annette Knott of Trinidad and Tobago, were elected to the Executive Committee of Centro Caribe Sports for the period 2023-2027, during an election held in Miami on Sunday.

The integration of both leaders corresponds to complete the new Bureau of the sports organization of Central America and the Caribbean, which last October 23 held its elections, however, by that date, it was not possible to choose the fourth and fifth member.

With the election of Young and Knott, Centro Caribe Sports has four women in its Executive Committee for the first time in the history of the organization. The previous administration had three women on its Board.

The following are the members of the Executive Committee of Centro Caribe Sports for the period 2023 to 2027:

President – Luis Rafael Mejía Oviedo (DOM).
Honorary President – Steve Stoute (BAR).
Vice Presidents – Roberto León Richards (CUB), Christopher Samuda (JAM) and María José Soto (VEN).
Secretary General – Sara Rosario (PUR).
Treasurer – Ciro Solano Hurtado (COL).
Members – Hans Larsen (HAI), Angel Morales (ISV), Cyril Cameron Burke (BAR), Damaris Young (PAN) and Annette Knott (TTO).
Santo Domingo 2026 Organizing Committee Representative – Felipe Vicini (DOM).

The new Executive Board of Centro Caribe Sports will be in charge of the celebration of the II Central American and Caribbean Beach Games Puntarenas 2025, in Costa Rica, and the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, in the Dominican Republic.
