CHAIRMAN OF THE IOC: “YOU ARE THE AMBASSADORS OF OUR TIME”.
International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach led the fraternity event at the Olympic Village on Monday morning.
Hundreds of Olympic athletes representing athletes from the territories of the 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Refugee Olympic Team made a powerful call for peace.
Four days before the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, they gathered for a solemn moment in the Olympic Village.
Wearing scarves with the message “Give peace a chance” and holding banners with the same words, they emphasized the powerful role sport can play in fostering peace and mutual understanding.
The event included athletes from NOCs whose countries are currently in conflict or war with each other.
