CENTRO CARIBE SPORTS TO LAUNCH JOURNALISM AND SPORTS REPORTING PROGRAMA FOR NOCS

SANTO DOMINGO.- Following the conclusion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the agenda of the HUELLAS project by the Caribbean Sports Center will continue with the strengthening of its National Olympic Committees (NOCs) through the launch of the “I Training Program for Sports Journalists and Reporters.”

From September 23 to 27, 2024, the organization will host this event with its affiliates, featuring a rigorous academic program with the presence of 16 national and international specialists at a hotel in the eastern part of the Dominican capital.

In this first phase, the training activity will be directed at nominated participants from the National Olympic Committees, members of the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization.

The event will serve to assess various scenarios of Technology, Information, and Communication in sports in the region, particularly within the Olympic Movement.

“It is very important for us to start this training program, which will allow us to academically address topics of sports journalism and reporting in a world of digital challenges, providing our NOCs with tools to unify efforts across the diversity of each country. Sports always bring us together,” said President Mejía.

This seminar will cover topics relevant to current times, where leaders, coaches, and athletes are part of the daily information content in the Olympic Movement.

The Assistance Program in Technology, Information, and Communication for National Olympic Committees, members of the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization, Caribbean Sports Center, represents the push for the new communication philosophy, “It’s Not I, It’s Us.”

All of this is based on research studies aimed at minimizing technological gaps among NOCs, bringing us together on a dynamic platform that fosters positioning, virality, and is grounded in the reputation of our sports, athletes, leaders, and coaches.
