FIBA CONFIRMS GROUPS FOR THE PARIS 2024 OLYMPIC GAMES
The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) held the draw for the men’s and women’s basketball group stage for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Tuesday evening.
The men’s basketball will start on July 27 until August 10, while the women will start on July 28 until August 11, where the preliminary phase will be held at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium, while the quarterfinals, semifinals and medal games, will be held at the Bercy Arena.
Puerto Rico, with its women’s national team, is the only official representation of the Central American and Caribbean region, while the men’s teams of Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Mexico will seek their tickets to the summer event through the qualifying tournaments to be held in Spain, Greece and Puerto Rico, respectively.
Men’s Schedule
The group stage will be played on July 27, 28, 30 and 31, as well as on August 2 and 3, at the Pierre Mauroy, with a break on July 29 and August 1.
The four quarterfinal matches will be played on August 6, while the semifinals will be played on August 8 and the medal matches on August 10.
Women’s schedule
Paris 2024 women’s basketball will begin on July 28 and will be in action on July 29 and 31, as well as on August 1, 3 and 4.
The quarterfinal matches are scheduled for August 7, while the semifinals are scheduled for August 9 and the medal matches for Sunday, August 11.
